Is this affiliated with the Goethe-Institut?

No. GoethePrep is an independent study tool. Exam formats are modelled on official Goethe-Zertifikat structures, but we are not endorsed by the Goethe-Institut.

Which levels does the app cover?

All six Goethe-Zertifikat levels: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2. This site focuses on B2 — the upper intermediate certificate for university admission and professional roles.

How long is the B2 exam?

The Goethe-Zertifikat B2 exam takes approximately 3 hours for the written part (Lesen, Hören, Schreiben) plus about 15 minutes for the speaking part (Sprechen).

How does the AI writing correction work?

In the Schreiben section, you write your answers freely in German. The app highlights grammar errors, suggests better vocabulary, and gives you a score estimate — so you improve with every attempt.

What score do I need to pass the real exam?

You need at least 60 out of 100 points overall to pass the Goethe-Zertifikat B2. Each module (Lesen, Hören, Schreiben, Sprechen) is scored separately and each must be passed individually.

Is the app available on Android?

GoethePrep is currently available for iPhone and iPad only via the App Store. An Android version is not planned at this time.
